Raquel Glottman's art can be seen as a mixture of the mysterious and sensual. Her work is always figurative, yet her subjects are stripped of their identity and turned into more archetypal and even mythical figures. Raquel is not interested in portraiture but rather in capturing a human condition and emotion. She is continuously dawned to water and many of her images are shot from inside the water. Water relates to the unconscious, to the unknown, to dreams and symbols, to the world of mind. Raquel's images seem to have a dreamlike, magical quality to them that give them a sense of timelessness, adding a layer to physical reality that goes beyond the every day and into the mystical and at times bazar.
